Breath of fresh air...

I just think it's wonderful to see a flash animation on this site with some artistic merit... Not just another "LOOK AT MY FUNNY FLASH ANIMATION I MADE THIS AFTERNOON WHILE EATING A PB&J SANDWICH!"

Thanks for this! I wish it was longer, sure, but I'm sure this took quite a while... can't wait to see what's next!

Alright, I'll give you points for the idea, but don't make a big deal that it's 60fps if you're not goin gto WOW anyone with it.

I was expecting to see some amazing frame-by-frame done here... all i see are a few tweens and the same dancing dot I've seen a million times before.

The idea is good, as far as seeing how far you can take flash, and you get props for that, but a key rule in being a good animator, as well as anything else in life, is knowing your limits. You set a high bar with this, and fell far short of anything worthwhile.

My advice? Start from scratch. What frame-by-frame you had was good, so prove me wrong and do some nice frame-by-frame at 60fps. Tweens are cheating unless you REALLY work it. :)

Did you watch the whole thing? I only put about 2 or 3 tweens, the rest were fbf. I'm proud of the animators that took part in this and I'm proud of the outcome. You might not like it but some people do.

LOL, I hate to admit how funny I thought this was. I guess I'm a sucker for kitshey stuff.

This does seem a bit like a Hallmark card, but there's nothing wrong with that. I'm afraid to ask what the actualy story was!

The art was good, very "Fairly Odd-Parents". Sound was clear. I'm still laughing about the whispering, lol. This had to be a small child... right?

God, I love flash as an artform. It's so refreshing to see quality work that doesn't revolve around toilet humor and sex! This was great! My only complaint, the music was a bit rough. Take down the volume a bit, and up the sample rate before creating your SWF file and you'd get a LOT better results!

[Walking tut for noobs]

Easy enough to follow, and rather necessary...

To be honest, I just ended a one year boycot of NG, because of all the junk that was being submitted (and doing quite well to be honest). It's good to see someone filling a need and actually HELPING the community instead of stifling it. It could've been a little more in-depth, but then again you said it was for "noobs" (awful word by the way) so maybe that was the intention?

Anyway, good stuff. I hope to see more of these... Maybe a section devoted to them? eh?
